Dr. Elaine K. Bolte — Chiropractor and CEO
Dr. Elaine K. Bolte is the visionary and CEO of Health Link Chiropractic. In addition to being a Doctor of Chiropractic, she is a certified clinician in whole food nutrition, public speaker, wife and mother. She was first adjusted at age 13, when her interest and passion for chiropractic began. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science from Ohio University, she attended New York Chiropractic College and graduated in 1997. She moved to Virginia and opened Health Link in June 1998.
She has served as District representative for the Virginia Chiropractic Association, as well as a board member for the American Cancer Society. She was given the honor of Entrepreneur of the Year at the NAWBO Richmond Enterprising Women of Excellence Event in 2015 and was named as a Richmond Top Doc in 2013.
She and her husband were married in 2002. They have 2 boys, Ethan and Evan, who have been raised having chiropractic starting at birth and are healthy, active children. Dr. Bolte enjoys time with family and friends, being outdoors, kayaking, running, and spending time on a boat. Her goal is to live to 100 and be featured on the Smuckers label on NBC.
Her passion for helping people has inspired others to live life with vitality. She strives to be partners in health with her practice members. Through knowledge, honesty and dedication, she hopes to motivate people to see and reach their full potential. Through chiropractic care, she has had the privilege to witness many lives that have had positive life-changing experiences.
Dr. Moses R. Wahl — Chiropractor
Dr. Moses Wahl grew up in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After seeing how chiropractic care helped his father through lumbar disc issues and sciatic pain for many years, Dr. Wahl decided to become a chiropractor. He graduated from Shippensburg University in 2003 and became a Doctor of Chiropractic at New York Chiropractic College in 2006. Dr. Wahl joined the practice in 2007, and was named “Top Doc in Richmond” in both 2012 and 2017.
Dr. Wahl takes a caring ‘whole person’ approach to wellness by guiding patients to address the life stresses that negatively affect them, thus increasing the health and healing potential of the nervous system. This approach to aiding the body in ‘self-healing and self-regulating’ helps patients become empowered and less dependent upon traditional drugs and medicine.
He is also a husband, a father of two, an active church member, and enjoys coaching his son’s soccer team. Focusing on wellness is an important part of Dr. Wahl’s life, because health is so challenging to regain once it has started to decline. It is for this reason he believes in the need to be more proactive and less reactive when it comes to your health!
Dr. Thomas B. Read — Chiropractor
Dr. Read has been a licensed chiropractor in the state of Virginia for over 20 years. He attended Cleveland College of Chiropractic in Los Angeles, California, where he was selected by his professors as a “Who’s Who” among his peers. He was one of only three in his class selected to work at a medical clinic treating the underprivileged in East L.A., while simultaneously performing his regular duties at the Cleveland Chiropractic College Clinic.
Prior to becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Read served as a California Highway Patrolman for 14 years but had his law enforcement career cut short by an on-duty back injury. He credits chiropractic care for his recovery and his decision to become a chiropractor.
Dr. Read has worked on professional dancers and athletes in the NBA, NFL and Major League Baseball. A large part of his practice has been working with local equestrians and attending jumping events. He is married with 2 children, a stepson and 4 grandchildren, and is very excited to be a part of the Health Link Team.
David — Certified Massage Therapist
Originally from Delaware, David has also lived in Washington D.C., finally settling in Richmond five years ago. After working for a summer as an assistant in a salon, he came to see the power of the human touch during the short scalp massages he performed there, which sparked an interest in massage therapy. He has worked in the field since he graduated from the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics in 2009 in Albuquerque, NM where he received the certification of Natural Therapeutic Specialist. He also holds a Virginia state license as well as a national license under the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
Outside of work, David enjoys working in his garden, cooking, and live music. He also acknowledges the importance having a supportive team of caregivers in preserving one’s physical, mental, and emotional health, and he is happy to be part of such a team here. Fun fact: David spent a year as a high school exchange student in Denmark.
Mark Sargent — Director of Business Operations & New Patient Concierge

As Director of Business Operations, Mark’s leadership allows the doctors and staff of Health Link to focus completely on helping others achieve their wellness goals. He oversees general business operations, is a new patient advocate, and is an overall jack of all trades around the office. Mark was named Wellness Coach of the Year in 2012 and 2013 and he continues to bring that excellence into every aspect of the operations at Health Link.
In his personal time, Mark enjoys watching his two sons play sports, training his retriever for competition, and spending time at the lake with his wife and kids. Someday, if given the time, he would love to thoroughly prepare for and hike the Appalachian Trail.
Devon — Licensed Acupuncturist
Devon became a board-certified acupuncturist and herbalist through the The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM®) after earning her dual Master’s degrees from Maryland University of Integrative Health. Having studied Five Element Acupuncture theory, her approach to healing is rooted in nature and the interconnectedness of mind, body and spirit.
Before pursuing acupuncture, she graduated with honors from Rutgers University, where she worked as a research assistant in both neuro- and clinical psychology laboratories. She also has over 10 years experience teaching fitness classes ranging from dance to mind-body formats, and is a certified Barefoot Training Specialist through the Evidence Based Fitness Academy.
Combining her background in evidence-based science and her appreciation of the philosophical underpinnings of traditional medicine, Devon provides an effective and customized treatment strategy for each person. She has treated a wide range of conditions and loves to witness her patients as they observe improvements in their energy level, digestion, sleep, mood, immune function and more. Whatever your health and wellness goals may be, Devon will offer guidance and support with compassion and integrity.
Outside the treatment room, she enjoys be-ing (and hiking!) in nature, reading and dancing. She considers herself a “forever student” of yoga, qigong, philosophy, medicine, and human nature.

Fun fact Shaleta is the clumsiest person you will ever meet!!!!! Got to love her!!!
Kara — Chiropractic Assistant and Director of First Impressions
Kara is excited to join the chiropractic care at Health Link after many years supporting emergency and neurological medicine. A Virginia native, Kara chose this field to help promote both a proactive and healing approach to health.

Fun fact: Kara competed in multiple 5Ks and Tough Mudder races before suffering a medical setback. Wellness is important to her as a method of recovery and adjustment to overcome and always strive to beat the odds.
Mary — Chiropractic Assistant and Director of First Impressions
I was born and raised in Ashland, Virginia. I went to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology. I chose this field because I want to help people and I love seeing the healing process.
Outside of the office, I love to take my dog to the park and love binge watching new tv shows. Wellness is important to me because people can take preventative measures to live a happy and healthy life. My dream vacation is to the Galapagos Islands to visit my favorite animal, the penguin!
